Daewoo Bus will provide Azerbaijan with 1,000 City Buses (BS090). According to Daewoo International Corporation, it signed a contract to supply 1,000 units of buses made by Daewoo Bus Corporation in South Korea to the Azerbaijan Transport Ministry in a meeting participated by President and CEO Kim Jae-yong and Azerbaijani Deputy Transport Minister Musa Panakhov on September 16, 2009. The $60 million contract is to replace worn-down small-and mid-sized buses (less than 7 meter) to large buses in the capital city of Baku.
Daewoo Bus has exported more than 800 units of 12 meter buses in Azerbaijan through Daewoo International Corp. under an enhancing project of the public transportation in Baku, which has been promoted since 2007. To this end, 1,800 buses have been supplied to the Transportations Ministry which amount to a total of $120 million.
The Chairman of Daewoo International said, "The latest contract holds great significance as the Azerbaijan government ordered additional buses for Korean-made Daewoo buses' excellence in quality and services." |
