Daewoo Bus Costa Rica was established in 2004 as a successor to Young An which had taken over ˇ°Maucoˇ±, a local body builder of Mercedes Benz Bus in 1995. From then on, Daewoo Bus Costa Rica has continuously increased its market share in Costa Rica large bus market with the product, technical support, and spare parts supplied by Daewoo Bus. Especially, in 2009, it recorded the market share of 30.7% which was close to that of the rival Mercedes Benz (35%). Finally Daewoo Bus Costa Rica achieved the goal of being No. 1 large bus brand in Costa Rica with its dominant market share of 49% in the 1st half of 2010.
